This website’s hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you open a page, Netlify’s servers receive technical data such as your IP address, the files requested, the time of access and browser information, in order to deliver and secure the website. This data is processed on the basis of First Evening’s legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. It is not combined with other data and no profile is created from it.

Because Netlify is based in the United States, this involves a transfer of data outside the EEA. Netlify, Inc. participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and additionally relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Implementing Decision 2021/914). A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place. Netlify’s privacy policy describes its recipients, international transfers and retention periods.

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and embeds no third-party trackers.

Inquiry forms and email

The forms on the hosts’ pages prepare an email draft in your browser. They do not submit data to a First Evening server, use browser storage or send a message automatically. You can review and copy the draft or open it in your email application. Your email provider processes the draft when you open it there; it reaches First Evening only when you send it. Browser autofill or your email application may retain details under their own settings. Please do not include medical information, passport details or other sensitive personal data.

Handling your request

Contact details and the information you provide about a stay are used to answer your request, make arrangements and carry out agreed hosting. For a guest’s pre-contractual request and contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For communication with an arranger or about a guest who is not the contracting party, it is the legitimate interest in coordinating the requested service under Article 6(1)(f). Legal record-keeping obligations are handled under Article 6(1)(c). If you provide details about someone else, please ensure they know you are doing so and share only what is needed.

Telephone and WhatsApp

You can contact First Evening by telephone or WhatsApp. The WhatsApp link is an ordinary external link, not an embedded widget. Opening it connects you to WhatsApp; the service’s EEA privacy policy applies to its processing. Email and telephone remain alternative contact methods.

Retention and recipients

Inquiry data is retained while needed to handle the request and, where applicable, deliver the agreed service. It is deleted when the purpose ends unless legal retention duties or legitimate grounds, such as resolving outstanding claims, require otherwise. Booking and invoice records are subject to applicable statutory retention periods. Hosting, email and communication providers may process data to deliver those functions. Details are shared with a venue or another provider only where necessary for an agreed arrangement or as agreed with you. Guest names and conversations are not published for marketing.

Fonts, images and local functions

Fonts and images are served with this website, without loading Google Fonts or Unsplash resources. First Evening has not embedded advertising pixels, visitor analytics, newsletter registration or payment processing. Copy buttons write only the displayed email address or your prepared draft to your clipboard after you click. Accordion choices are not saved as a profile. The hosting platform’s security and technical functions are separate from these page features.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR’s conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. Any consent can be withdrawn for the future. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, including the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
